Privacy policy

Your journey. Your information.

Who is responsible

This notice explains how Offerwego, the publisher of offerwego.com, handles personal information for readers in the United Kingdom and the European Union/European Economic Area. For privacy enquiries and requests, contact [email protected]. It covers this website, not the separate services of travel companies or other websites linked from our pages.

Information we receive

When you contact us, we receive your email address, message and information you choose to share. Website infrastructure may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, request times and error logs. Do not send passports, payment details, medical information or other sensitive documents unless a secure and necessary arrangement has been explicitly agreed.

Why we use information

We use correspondence to answer enquiries, consider corrections and deal with privacy requests. Technical information helps deliver pages, investigate faults, detect abuse and maintain security. We do not use this website to take travel bookings or payments. Independent providers handle transactions you make on their own websites.

Lawful bases

Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests for proportionate site administration, security and responding to ordinary editorial enquiries, balancing these needs against your rights. Consent is the basis for optional marketing or non-essential tracking if introduced. We may process information to meet legal obligations, and contract-related information where necessary for a service you expressly request.

Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This site loads the Google Analytics 4 tag when a public page opens to measure visits and page usage. The tag may set or read analytics cookies and sends usage information to Google. This analytics disclosure was updated 28 September 2026.

The initial website does not load analytics, advertising pixels or non-essential third-party trackers. When you choose to save a story, its route is stored in your own browser local storage so that your saved list can work; this list is not sent to us. You can remove saved items using their bookmark controls or clear site data in your browser. We will ask for consent before introducing technologies that require it.

Affiliate links and attribution

Some future links may be affiliate links. A network or merchant may record a referral, device or transaction information under its own privacy notice when you follow such a link. We do not receive your full card details. The initial planning resource contains no affiliate booking links. Commercial links and sponsored content will be identified; linking does not make another organisation part of Offerwego.

Other websites

Travel companies, booking services and other linked organisations have their own terms and privacy practices. Read their notices before entering information or making a reservation. We cannot control how an external site uses information, and our privacy notice does not replace its notice.

Sharing and service providers

Information may be handled by service providers supplying hosting, site security and email, under appropriate access restrictions and agreements. We share only what is necessary for the task. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell readers' personal information.

International transfers

Hosting and email services can involve processing outside the UK or EEA. Where regulated international transfers occur, appropriate measures may include adequacy decisions or contractual safeguards recognised under the applicable regime, with additional measures where required. You may contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

Retention

We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain relevant editorial records and address legal or security requirements. Technical logs are retained only for operational and security needs. Retention depends on the information, purpose and applicable obligations, and information is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed. Saved-story data remains in your browser until you remove it.

Your UK and European rights

Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We do not make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about readers. Send requests to [email protected]; we may need proportionate information to confirm identity and normally respond within one month where GDPR applies.

Complaints

Please contact us first so we can consider your concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or the relevant EU/EEA supervisory authority, including in your place of residence, work or the alleged infringement. You do not have to contact us before approaching an authority.

Security and children

We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, but no online system is perfectly secure. This general-audience travel publication is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information that should be removed.

Updates

This notice was last updated on 27 September 2026. We may revise it when our services, providers or legal responsibilities change, and the updated date will appear here. Material new uses that require consent will not be enabled merely by changing this page.
